Coinciding with his new album release for Darkest Before Dawn, Pusha T has shared a mini film revealing just how dark life can get before the sun rises. The 22-minute film, directed by Kid Art, stars King Push alongside Power‘s Rotimi.
Within the first five minutes, the reel confronts Pusha’s demons. A church confession serves as the voice over for most of the film and sparks the conflict between choosing a life of pushing drugs or faith. With images like striking thunderstorms, a Virgin Mary that serves as a drug transporter, and an exorcism being performed as Pusha walks on walls, the film definitely has heavy religious undertones.
While the short visual introduces fans to Pusha T the actor, the G.O.O.D Music president says this film is giving people a look at his perspective on what it means to experience something extraordinary. “My inspiration was to just show how miracles come in different forms and to show even though you might not do the right thing all the time that you live by a certain set of principles,” he told fans on a Reddit AMA forum.
In addition to its dark shots and angles, the mini film definitely proves that miracles can come in all different shapes and forms for various people. You can check out what form Pusha T’s miracle took in the film below.
