On the six-year anniversary of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Pusha T took to social media to thank Kanye West, and his creative genius, for allowing him to be a part of one of the “greatest hip-hop albums ever.”
Earlier today (Nov. 22), King Push posted an Instagram message thanking Yeezy for giving him endless opportunities.
“You invited me to Hawaii and said ‘pick whatever tracks you love and write to all of them,'” Push recalled. “I got greedy, I stopped going to play basketball with you every morning and proceeded to write to [eight] songs on your album. U kept me on [two], ‘Runaway’ which was your platinum single, and ‘So Appalled’ which put me on a song with you, Hov, Cyhi [Da Prynce], Swizz [Beatz], and produced by RZA.”
“Thinking back on it, it really was all a set up,” he continued. “You were setting me up to be the solo artist I never saw myself as. So on the 6th anniversary of MBDTF and as the President of your label G.O.O.D. music I wanna say thanx for the endless opportunities you have brought to me.”
Pusha then ended the post with a sweet nostalgic tone as he reminisces on their trip to Hawaii, and possibly going back.
The genuine love that fueled the post is the type of energy that West needs at the moment. Hopefully, this ode to ‘Ye was as much of a picker-upper to him as it was to the fans.
