The family of Joycelyn Savage, an alleged member of R. Kelly‘s sex cult, was reportedly contacted numerous times by the FBI about the musician. According to sources for the gossip site TMZ, Joycelyn’s father Timothy has reportedly been contacted by the Bureau at least five times in the past year-and-a-half about the Pied Piper of R&B. Most recently, contact was made after the documentary series Surviving R. Kelly was released in early-January.
“Our sources say Timothy provided the feds with lots of the same information regarding alleged predatory behavior and physical abuse he gave Lifetime for ‘Surviving,'” the site reads. “The FBI has jurisdiction when an adult brings a minor across state lines for sexual purposes.”
After a Buzzfeed exposé released in 2017 alleged that R. Kelly was holding young women captive in a sex cult of sorts, Savage, who was 21 at the time, said that she was fine and safe with Kelly.
“I just mainly want to say I’m in a happy place with my life,” she said an interview with TMZ back in 2017. “And I’m not being brainwashed or anything like that.” Savage’s parents maintain that she is being held against her will and told how to behave.
