Before 300 signee Raz Simone delivers all of his Trap Spirituals, he’s got to admit something. The Seattle rapper loves to taunt the law on a daily basis, evident by his new single “Gangstuh Shit,” which makes its world premiere today via VIBE.
“I’m not home, I’m doing gangstuh shit!” Raz raps top a mattress of angst riddled WITH guitar strings, screams and drums. He readily confesses that he should be doing a hundred years for his various crimes and sins, but instead just keeps on doing him.
After spending much of 2015 poking at posi-rappers such as Macklemore and Sol, as well as challenging Seattle’s racial status quo, Raz Simone is thinking global. He can quote bible verses and apply them to the struggle some rappers face. Which in a sense makes him an outlier, not just for Seattle rap but 300 as a whole.
Stream Raz Simone’s “Gangstuh Shit” now. Trap Spirituals is coming soon.
