This is what you call a real-life subtweet.
A dishwasher has been fired from a Houston barbecue spot for blasting NWA’s “F*ck Tha Police” while officers dined. According to the Houston Chronicle, Deputy Shane Cates wrote about the incident in a now deleted Facebook post.
“I was completely shocked and thought surely no one was doing that as a dig on cops,” Cates said of his experience at Goings Barbecuse & Steak Co. “The guy washing dishes was singing the song and pointing out towards the eating area. He turned and noticed me standing there and started laughing.”
Cates left the eatery and returned Monday to speak with the manager. According to Cates, the manager didn’t seem apologetic and also laughed when Cates recalled the incident. Rigo Berto Ruiz the co-owner of the restaurant chain confirmed the incident did in fact occur. Ruiz assured Cates the dishwasher was fired, but claims the language barrier between the manager on hand was misinterpreted.
Playing NWA’s “F*ck Tha Police” within earshot of an officer is definitely a ballsy move.
