Kickoff the weekend with these nine recent dance music releases, curated by DJ, producer and vocalist Lea Luna.
1. Ferry Corsten feat. Nat Dunn- “Hyper Love”
Everyone knows that trance big-shot Ferry Corsten is a hit machine, and this track entitled “Hyper Love” is no exception, with a gigantic vocal hook and beautiful, energetic progressions the whole way through.
2. Amine Edge & DANCE vs Tough Love- “The Perfect Love” (part 01)
Check out this delicious bassy house track, the first of many scorchers on the well-rounded house EP “The Perfect Love” by Amine Edge & DANCE vs Tough Love. Four great minds, two years of hard work, and a long history of classic house influence truly shine through on this speaker bumping tune, as well as on the following tracks on the EP.
3. Underworld- “Cowgirl” (Alt Cowgirl C69 Mix from A1564)
The roots of electronic music culture go deeper than many current EDM fans are aware of. Underworld has contributed to some of the most memorable dance releases in electronic music history, including their 90’s classic entitled “Cowgirl” among many others. This rare remix of Cowgirl has been remastered, reviving the old-school sound and bringing that classic mind-bending vocal back with better sonic clarity for both old-school and new-school fans to enjoy.

4. Zhu- “Faded” (Big Gigantic Remix)
The sexy voice of Zhu has been remixed and reinterpreted in a number of ways since his original album release, and this one by Big Gigantic really gets the mood right with saxophone and classy keys over deep, bass-laden house beats. Mmm.
5. GTA- “Cake”
When trap fans hear GTA’s “Cake,” they will eat it up. It could be just as easily be categorized in hip-hop as bass music, but according to GTA’s soundcloud hashtag #deathtogenres, there is no need to classify it. GTA will be taking their huge genre-murdering sound to major stages supporting Skrillex and Flosstradamus in the coming months.
6. RAC- “Cheap Sunglasses” feat. Matthew Koma (the Knocks remix)
“Cheap Sunglasses” is a really clever lyric about the illusion of the rockstar image. The catchy vocal is carried well by the melody, and delightfully toughened up by this remix by The Knocks, who added a little nu-disco dance flavor. This song truly advocates for the type of fans who are part of dance music culture for the right reasons: to simply be yourself and dance, no cheap sunglasses necessary.
7. MO- “Dance On My Own” (Zed Bias remix)
Here’s a free download from a trio of talented British females called M.O. and remixer Zed Bias. This song “Dance On My Own” is hot on the decks of Radio 1’s Annie Mac, totally nailing that UK garage sound that is making a huge comeback on the airwaves and in major clubs around the world.
8. Clean Bandit- “Extraordinary” (Still Young remix)
This track is such a beautiful composition. Expert chord progressions, uplifting builds and a strong vocal blend happily together on this tune so appropriately named “Extraordinary.” Give this one a spin to take your mood to a higher level.
9. Time For Trees- “The One For Steve” (Andrew Bowen remix)
You can find this funky dance jam tucked into a huge pack of unique house and techno called “Corrections” from Denver-based label Make Mistakes. Time For Trees, A.K.A. Joshua Smith, is both the label boss and one of the fun-loving artists, whose loopy horns and funny track names keep things interesting. Andrew Bowen adds more dancefloor potential with his remix of “The One For Steve”, making it the perfect sound for those who came to get down.
