Rhymefest and Kanye West were once musically thick as thieves. The collaborators have long had each other’s back like play cousins and fans of Mr. West have reaped the blessings of the chemistry time and time again.
Yet recently ‘Fest took to Twitter to announce he stopped working with West while he placed the finishing touches on The Life of Pablo, stating his friend needs “help.”
@JakeChatty my brother needs help, in the form of counseling. Spiritual & mental. He should step away from the public & yesmen & heal

Rhymefest, real name Che Smith, is partially responsible for Ye’s classic “Jesus Walks” and “New Slaves” but reportedly walked away from TLOP out of concern for the well being of friend.
@OGoGoooh@lord_cornwall I love my brother. I pray for his health not our entertainment — Rhymefest (@RHYMEFEST) February 12, 2016
Fest, who also appeared in last year’s Kenneth Cole campaign, said he hopes West distances himself from the “yesman” that surround him and tells fans his departure is fairly recent.
