Hip-hop fans are going crazy over Meek Mill’s latest collaboration with Jay-Z and Rick Ross on”What’s Free.” Each of them held it down with premier raps and even had some time to fire shots at certain people in the industry. Rick Ross appeared to call out Tekashi 6ix9ine on the track, referencing the rapper’s recent trouble with the Feds.
The Carol City native went in on the Brooklyn artist, directly referencing Tekashi’s racketeering charge and colorful hair.
“Screaming ‘gang gang’ now you wanna rap/ Racketeering charges caught him on a tap/ Lookin’ for a bond lawyers wanna tax/ Purple hair got them f****ts on your back,” he raps.
As previously reported, 6ix9ine was arrested by the Feds and charged with racketeering earlier this month. He is facing a possible life sentence.
Ross wasn’t the only one who snapped on Meek Mill’s track though. Jay-Z also name-dropped Kanye West on his verse, blasting the rapper for his recent ties with President Trump.
The latest single comes from Meek’s new album CHAMPIONSHIPS, which debuted on Friday (Nov. 30). The album also features Drake, Young Thug, Ella Mai, and more. If your year-end lists were already complete, you might want to adjust them a little bit, because “What’s Free” is definitely a banger.
