In 2016, Rihanna released her eighth studio album, Anti. The bold record featured hits such as “Work” “Kiss It Better” and “Love on The Brain” In promotion of the record, Rih embarked on an aggressive European and North American tour giving fans nothing but hits.
But then Ms. Fenty launched Fenty Beauty. After conquering music, she set her sights on the beauty industry and shook it up by doing something revolutionary: she created foundations and products for all women, especially women of darker tones, forcing other brands to finally market to women they’ve neglected.
While Rih continues to drain our pockets with new makeup palettes, lipsticks, highlights, and gloss, fans have begged for another album and wondered if Rih will ever get back in the studio and create more tunes.
Under an Instagram post in which Rihanna promoted her newest lipstick shade Flamming Acid, someone asked: “But when is the new album dropping Robyn.” Not thinking the Oceans 8 star saw the question or would even respond, Rihanna surprised everyone when she answered the question.
“2019,” she posted.
It was rumored earlier in the year that Rihanna would work on a dancehall album, paying homage to her Caribbean roots, but Rih hasn’t made any mention of it.
It also should be noted that Rihanna said new music would arrive in 2019, but she did not specify when. So, until the album drops, we’ll all just be waiting…like we have been…for the past three years.
