In an interview with British publication NME scheduled for release on Friday (Sept. 18), the “B***h Better Have My Money” singer said, “It’s not done! To me it’s never done until it’s done. Until the final moment.” Though incomplete, the project has seen the release of singles “FourFiveSeconds” featuring Paul McCartney and Kanye West, and “American Oxygen” which was nominated for Best Video with a Social Message at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
Rihanna said she is aware of her album’s public demand. “No matter what I post online, within three comments there’s somebody saying, ‘Where is R8?’ I could post anything. Nothing else matters. They don’t care about anything but that.” This anticipation, which has been a year in the making, is something the singer enjoys. “It makes me excited because I can’t wait to give them something great,” she said.
Though R8‘s release date is in the air, Rih said that Yeezy’s production on the album will continue soon. “We just have to wait to get back in the studio together,” she said. “His schedule and mine are totally opposite right now, but I think this month we’ll be back in the studio.”
