Two years in the making, and now Rihanna’s Met Gala dress has made fashion history.
Rihanna took to Instagram to reveal her excitement for her second Vogue special edition cover. Last year RiRi graced the cover alongside Beyonce, rocking an all white two-piece Stella McCartney crop top and long skirt. This year it’s all about the bad gal herself and her very detailed Chinese couture.

In an interview with Vogue she explained how the design for the dress came about.
“You know what, it was a miracle how it happened actually,” she told Andre Leon Talley. “I saw this beautiful beast on the Internet. I was looking through, you know, researching Chinese couture, and it’s made by Guo Pei, a Chinese couturier.” She continued, “It’s so well-made, it’s handmade by one Chinese woman. It took two years to make this.”
