Singer and rapper S-8ighty is gaining momentum with the release of his label debut. The latest signee to Republic Records dropped off his EP Breaking The Ice last Friday (March 25), which holds the blistering hot remix to “Halfway,” featuring Lil Wayne.
He delivers a hard-hitting, one-two combo as he croons an passionate hook and drops an impressive verse along side the Young Money founder. S-8ighty, which serves as the alias for Dave Welcome, Jr., also dropped the video for the upbeat R&B “Halfway” to accompany the premiere of his 5-track EP.
With a special appearance from Mannie Fresh, both NOLA natives mob out as S-8ighty tells his own love story about a light-skinned beauty that’s stuck on his mind.
