Chicago’s music scene has the perfect balance of street rappers and emcees who are pushing conscious hip-hop forward.
Westside native, Saba is cut from the cloth of the latter. This week, he linked with fellow Chi-Town native Noname for the Cam O’bi-produced track, “Church/Liquor Store.”
Here, the two emcees take listeners on a ride through the Westside of Chicago where liquor stores sit next to places of worship and everyday working folks mix in the midst of delinquents who contribute to the school-to-prison pipeline.
Saba, co-produced Noname’s recent mixtape, Telefone. He’s also set to release his next project, Bucket List Project on October 27, which is the follow-up to his 2014’s Comfort Zone.
