Skrillex-loving headbangers and computer gamers, meet you’re new addiction. After contributing both a track and a character to the recent game-based Pixar film, , dubstep’s demon now has his a his very own computerized game, Skrillex Quest.
The freebie browser-based video game is loosely modeled on the classic Nintendo, and has gamers take on the task of overcoming the dreaded “dust on the cartridge” syndrome. The game follows “P1? as he tries to destroy a bunch of glitches and pairs Skrillex‘s music as the soundtrack. “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” and “Summit” are two of his hits that are featured heavily.
Skrillex Quest was created by game developer Jason Oda several months after receiving a commission from Skrillex’s people. “I had a lot of freedom, but we went back and forth a bit about lyrical interpretations and the general idea of a collapsing world and dead or distant lovers,” said Oda. “The “Summit” lyrics really ended up being able to paint a great sort of abstract plot along the way.”
