Snoop Dogg plans to add to his sweet sixteen discography of studio albums this spring. On Instagram, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper dropped the news that his seventeenth full-length project will arrive in May.
“New Snoop Dogg record on the way I wanna thank me May 2019,” he captioned the post of himself in the studio. The soundscape is presumably titled “I Wanna Thank Me,” but details have been scarce. Currently, the veteran lyricist is promoting his new film, The Beach Bum.
The multi-hyphenate celebrity has dabbled within various music genres throughout his tenure. The 47-year-old experimented with reggae on 2013’s Reincarnated, funk and disco on 2015’s Bush, and gospel on Bible of Love in 2018.
During his acceptance speech for his star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, Snoop thanked himself for expanding upon his progress within the music industry. “I want to thank me for doing all this hard work, I want to thank me for having no days off, I want to thank me for never quitting, I want to thank me for always being a giver and trying to give more than I receive,” he said. “I want to thank me for trying to do more rights than wrong, I want to thank me for just being me at all times.”
