A Snoop Dogg, Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder collaboration doesn’t just happen.
Let the Doggfather tell it, getting everyone in the studio was the easy part. In audio obtained by HipHopDX, Snoop recalls his session for an upcoming track produced by Williams featuring Stevie, and the story is hysterical. Sharing that he decided to include the legendary singer on the song off of a whim, the rapper revealed that the mention of Pharrell’s name prompted Stevie’s inclusion.
Too bad when it came down to actually producing, Pharrell fell a bit short. Read Snoop’s version of how his song with Stevie Wonder came together below:

Then once [Stevie] gets there, he comes in, Pharrell’s sitting at the boards. So Stevie goes in. I’m like ‘Aight, Pharrell. He in there, cuz. Go on and produce him.’
Pharrell looking at me like ‘Man, I don’t know what to do. What you want [me to do?]’ I’m like ‘Nigga, produce the nigga man! He in the motherfuckin’ booth!’ He like ‘Man, I don’t know what to do.’ I’m like ‘Man fuck this shit!’ I said ‘Stevie, play the harmonica cuz, from the top to the bottom, play it any way you want to play it.’
So he start playing, and he knocked it all the way down. So when he finished and I’m like ‘Pharrell, cuz, he still in there, let’s get some vocals up out of him.’ Pharrell like ‘I don’t know how to, what you want me [to do?]’ I’m like ‘Aye Stevie, Pharrell said can you put some vocals up on there.’ So he starts putting vocals in, filling them in and shit, and dropping them motherfucking pieces in there.
That nigga Pharrell was so high, that motherfucker got up and walked out the room. Then he came back like ‘Man, I can’t do this shit.’ I’m like ‘I got it cuz, don’t worry about nothin’.’ So I went ahead and organized it, told him put his pieces in. Me and Drew, the engineer, we put them in. Pharrell left high as a motherfucker, then came back like two days later like ‘Man, that shit was dope what y’all did. I don’t remember none of that shit.’
