Solange now has a number one album on her hands with the release of A Seat At The Table. Solo’s third solo album (see what we did there?) has been hailed as a breath of fresh air for the music industry, with fans and critics praising the lyrical content and artistry of the 21-track record.
However, the journey to completion wasn’t an easy one for the busy mom and spanned nearly three years. In a newly released 11 minute video, Solange gives fans a glimpse into the early creative stages of her LP. She begins the recording process in Long Island and then heads to New Orleans with cameos from album collaborators including Sampha, Kwes and other musicians.
Early versions of “Don’t Touch My Hair” and “Don’t You Wait” appear in the clip, giving fans an idea of the origins of some of the album’s stand out tracks.
