The 2015 Soul Train Awards went down on BET and Centric on Sunday night (Nov. 29). Along with an opening monologue from the night’s host, Erykah Badu, shade thrown at Iggy Azalea, and a couple of epic performances by R. Kelly, Babyface, Fantasia, Brandy, and Boyz II Men, there were also a load of well-deserving winners.
By far, Jill Scott and Babyface received the most prestigious awards of the night, earning the titles of the first-ever Lady of Soul and Legend respectively. There were some other big wins of the night though. The Weeknd earned another award to put on his mantle with “Album of the Year.” Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars also walked away with “Song of the Year” and “Video of the Year” for “Uptown Funk,” while Tyrese nabbed the “Centric Certified Award.”
