UK grime rapper Stormzy shows just how vicious he can be with the release of his latest video, “Scary.” The MC mixes a touch of symbolism with dark visuals to deliver a very chilling effect.
The video is coming as a warning before the release of the rapper’s next studio album. In the video, Stormzy is captured pouring out some cutthroat lyrics as he walks in the shadows of a dimly lit room. Many of the scenes are only lit by a number of cathedral-style candles, which add both a frightening and beautiful touch to the frames.
At the song’s core, it serves as an endless series of attacks fired at his haters. And with the combination of the directness and power of his lyrics and the darkness of the video’s images, it definitely shuts down any hater right in their tracks.
