Last summer, one of Texas’ best young stars in Ft. Worth’s Leon Bridges released his debut album, Coming Home. Adored by fans and critics, the album rode Bridges’ love for retro doowop with tinges of gospel and soul.
Fans weren’t the only ones who noticed Coming Home had legs to it, Bridges’ label Columbia did as well. So, Bridges’ went back in the studio to record five new songs, songs he had previously only performed live for the deluxe edition of Coming Home.

The five new records from “There She Goes” down to “Outta Line” all clock over two minutes except for “Daisy Mae” which nearly crests around three. All of them happen to be dreamy, smooth cuts that could have existed at the “Enchantment Under The Sea” dance from Back To The Future but are fresh and live for today’s audience.
