A bevy of concerts in the tristate area were no match for Mother Nature’s rain and wind this past weekend. The last day of the Governor’s Ball was cancelled, while performances at Festival Village at Hot 97’s Summer Jam at MetLife Stadium were also called off.
A last minute appearance at Summer Jam by Kanye West, who was set to headline GovBall had it not been cancelled, ran longer than expected, causing Future (the closing night headliner)’s set to be cancelled completely due to New Jersey’s strict curfew law. “Radio station told me to leave…major pump fake” the DS2 MC wrote on Twitter. However, he did not blame Hot 97, writing in a separate tweet, “Totally satisfied & happy wit hot 97 always showing love spinning my records…”

This is the second time this weekend that Future’s set was not full length. During the Roots Picnic in Philly, sound issues caused his time on stage to be cut short.
