Simmering R&B singer-songwriter Summer Walker properly emerged on the scene during the season bearing her name, giving the girls something to jam to and the guys something to think about. Now that it’s officially autumn, the Atlanta native has blessed us with her debut album, Last Day Of Summer.
The self-produced, written and engineered records come by way of Walker’s bedroom studio where she slowly put this album together since August of 2017. Though devoid of a title track, this album channels Amy Winehouse (one of her vocal idols) with its raspy, soulful tones.
Standing at 12-songs and 28-minutes long, this album holds a plethora of slow jams about femineity, love, sex, and womanhood. Majority of the tracks also have a common sound, with a guitar-centric flare that carries steadily from track to track.

Chock-full of seductive ballads, Last Day Of Summer is a slow-burner through and through.
