Swizz Beatz may have fully indulged himself into the world of fine art, but he’s still got a few masterpieces in his hard drive to make waves in the new era of hip-hop.
The veteran producer and MC added a legendary touch to his infectious collaboration with Jadakiss “Jason,” which was off his Top 5 Dead or Alive LP. Over the weekend, Beatz released a fresh verse from KRS-One to the song.
“Fight back, shoot back, loot that, protest/Brick to the helmet, I ain’t feeling no stress,” KRS raps in his opening bars.
The special remix comes just days after Swizz dropped off his hustler’s anthem “Waiting On Me” and “Represent Tonight.” After contributing to Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo and reportedly working with DMX in the studio, we know the 37-year-old beat maker has been itching to drop music from his personal stash. A follow-up (or even sequel) to his 2007 debut album One Man Band Man wouldn’t be a bad idea either, but I digress.
For now, enjoy KRS-One’s dope verse on the remix to “Jason” below.
