It looks like SZA is preparing to stamp her return on the music realm this fall season. According to Essence, the New Jersey native might release her highly-anticipated debut album in November.
“I just got a date last week, finally,” the “Sweet November” singer shared during her appearance at the Made in America festival. “[It’ll drop] near my birthday.” The TDE songbird’s bday falls on Nov. 8.
In a previous interview with VIBE, SZA opened up about the growth that she felt during the process of piecing together her album.
“Writing my music and this album has helped me confront sh*t in life,” she said. “Going to the studio was scary before because it was like it’s a job, I have to go in there and do something awesome and come out with something complete. But now I just see it as a exercise. It’s interesting; it’s healing.”
So far this year, we’ve heard SZA’s captivating vocals on other artists’ tracks from Rihanna’s ANTI opener “Consideration,” to fellow label mate Isaiah Rashad’s “Stuck in the Mud,” which is featured on his debut studio album, The Sun’s Tirade.
