Twenty-three years after Tupac was shot at New York’s Quad studios, Hot 97.FM’s Funkmaster Flex felt it was his duty to inform Pac fans that he actually shot himself during the ambush.
“You Pac fans always talking that talk,” Flex said during his Instagram Live. “Cheddar Bob came in there, popped himself in the leg. Popped himself first. That’s what happened.”
It hasn’t been made clear why Flex felt the need to bring up the events at Quad studios, which then began the infamous East Coast/West Coast beef, but there are a lot of things Flex does people don’t understand. Catching wind of Flex’s comments, T.I. took to Instagram to respectfully correct the 48-year-old DJ.
“Considering when he was alive you were on the air then,” T.I. captioned the post. “That was the time to address this. Not here. Not now. Not like this, and I’d say the same to a n***a from LA speaking on Big.”
T.I–who also publicly scolded Lil Wayne after his Black Lives Matter comments during his Nightline interview–recently performed during Tupac’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April. As it stands now, Flex hasn’t responded to T.I, but do you think he should, or has Brother T.I. basically said all that needs to be said about this topic? Sound off in the comments below.
Update:
For those who care, Funkmaster Flex plans to address T.I’s comments tonight (May 4) at 9PM on Instagram Live. Should be fun.
