In 2009, T-Pain was inescapable. The singer-songwriter and producer helped usher in the autotune moment in music, which helped non-singers sound like they were actually doing something..
Six year later a lot has changed. Gone are T-Pain’s dreads and gaudy jewelry and in its place appears to be an artist who’s grown and doesn’t need anything other than a microphone to prove he’s a talent.
Monday night (August 31) T-Pain sang the National Anthem at The Dodgers Giants game in LA. In front of a packed audience, sans the autotune, Pain showed he can hit notes, evoke emotion and take a classic song and make it his own.
Well done, T-Pain. Well done.
