Takeoff made his debut performance as a solo artist on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform “Last Memory” off his debut album, The Last Rocket.
Wearing round, white mirrored sunglasses, the Atlanta rapper’s performance matches up to his stage name as the visuals are all intergalactic. He raps on a foggy stage with a massive screen in front of him that plays a short clip of a rocket taking off before switching over to his flashy “Last Memory” video. Takeoff performs with dripped out jewelry while wearing all-white while a montage from the “Last Memory” video shows the Migos rapper luxuriating in a lounge with beautiful women.
“Woke up this morning can’t remember nothing,” he raps. “I go to space with the stars (stars)/ Might smoke a blunt with my pilot (cookie)/ Saturn, moon, Earth and mars (Mars)/ NASA takeoff with the rocket (NASA).”
“Last Memory” is currently Takeoff’s highest-charting song at the moment as the single has peaked at No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 while sitting at No. 25 and No. 23 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and Rap Songs chart respectively.
His album The Last Rocket debuted at No. 4 on the pop charts, selling 49K copies in the first week. Check out the live performance up top.
