Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, the leader of the herd over at TDE, gave fans a look inside the collective’s plans for the year 2016. The stomping ground of Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock and Schoolboy Q looks as though it will be busier than ever in the next coming months, when an Instagram post from Tiffith revealed the plans on Monday (Feb. 29) that SIX albums from the label’s cohorts are hopefully dropping this year.
“Sh*t about to get nasty real soon… I told y’all I got y’all in 2016 #TDE” the caption for the pic read. The image itself reveals that Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, SZA and Isaiah Rashad are all in the process of creating new material for albums that could be dropping this year. SZA and Rashad are in the fourth and third stages of album development, so their material could be coming sooner than we realize. K. Dot’s name had question marks by it, so the possibility that he could release new music for us this year is up in the air.
There were also plans for next year- we could possibly be getting a new album from Black Hippy in 2017, as Tiffith is “praying” something can happen. Plus, peep the fact that there are two new artists signed to the label, with “John Doe 1” in the second creative stage of album development. Place your bets on who they could be in the comments below, and check out the cryptic picture under the cut.
