If you’re one of thousands of people who are dependent on New York City’s
reliable imperative subway system, then you must have a favorite “showtime” dance crew by now. In their new video, The Knocks embrace the acrobatic art of busking that is sneered at by many annoyed train riders, yet praised by the few, easily amused tourists.
The train-hopping squad of litefeet, pole-swinging b-boys have cemented their rambunctious routine into music history with the black-and-white visuals for the melodic homage to the Big Apple. Shot on an iPhone 6 by Elliott Sellers, the b-boys bust out their best moves with the Cam’ron assisted single “New York City,” which comes fresh off The Knocks’ debut album 55.
