The Grammy Awards is definitely going to be a night to remember, especially for the Hip-Hop and R&B categories. Aside from the many rappers and singers who made the nominations list, a number of top artists will take the stage, including new additions, Rihanna and Adele. The Weeknd will also perform at the star-studded event, and now rumors have surfaced that he may take the show up another level with a special guest.
Reports quickly surfaced on the Internet that the Record of the Year nominee would hit the stage with none other than Ms. Lauryn Hill during his highly-anticipated performance. While reports that detail the duet have not been confirmed, small hints have popped up on Instagram. Just hours before the show is underway, Hill’s musicians Instagrammed a photo of a private jet, captioning, “Just finished our double header in Boston, now boarding this beautiful private jet heading to the Grammys!!!” That may not be enough to jump out of our seats quite yet, but at least this means she’ll definitely be in attendance.
A Weeknd and Lauryn Hill performance would seem only fitting as both are no strangers to the Grammy noms. In addition to being nominated for Record of the Year for “Can’t Feel My Face,” The Weeknd has also been nominated for Album of the Year for Beauty Behind The Madness, a title that Hill was nominated for and won in 1999 and 2000.
The Grammy’s will air on CBS tonight at 8 p.m. So keep your fingers crossed and look out for a potential performance from The Weeknd and Lauryn Hill.
