The Weeknd surprised fans yesterday with an exclusive listen of his latest Beauty Behind the Madness track (July 21).
Fans gathered on Osea Island in England, expecting to hear his older songs or perhaps his chart-topping BBTM hits, “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills” – which he delivered before stepping back from the mic. The audio transitioned to an unreleased track while the singer danced around the stage. The lyrics delve deep, much like his classic style:
“I’m a prisoner to my addiction. I’m addicted to a life that’s so empty and so cold.
I’m a prisoner to my decision.”
This new track is possibly titled “Mood Music 2” and joins “”Often,” The Hills,” and “Can’t Feel My Face” for The Weeknd’s sophomore album (Aug. 28). The 14-song LP is available for pre-order until its release date (Aug. 28). Only the first three singles are currently available for individual purchase.
