Earlier this month, The Weeknd surprised the masses with news of his forthcoming album titled Starboy. Shortly after, he premiered the project’s title track, co-produced by the legendary Daft Punk. And today (Sept. 28), a visual to accompany the dance-floor ready melody dropped, which showcases The Weeknd like we’ve never seen him before.
In the beginning of the Grant Singer-directed reel, The Weeknd’s old self, dreads included, gets smothered by the man we now see on the cover art for “The Hills” singer’s forthcoming album. The Toronto native dances throughout a mansion filled with plaques, awards, and other memorabilia while destroying every accolade in his path that’s reminiscent of who he once was.
With over 100,00 YouTube views and counting, it’s safe to say that the self-proclaimed king of the fall has returned. Check out “Starboy” below ahead of the album’s release on Nov. 25.
