After a couple years of being independent, T.I. is taking his Grand Hustle empire over to Epic Records. As a celebration, the veteran rapper released two new songs with new label-mates, Meek Mill and Yo Gotti.
The first song, “Jefe” featuring Meek, finds Tip and the Philly native sparring over a horn-driven instrumental from Bangladesh.
“Let me welcome you, get introduced to the king/Bentleys, Ferraris, brand new and they clean/So disappointed when niggas talk shit on their records, when you see ’em, don’t do anything,” T.I. raps.
On the Scott Storch-produced “Wraith,” Tip gets an assist from CMG’s Yo Gotti. Here, Tip steals the scene, thanks to his fluid flow.
“I don’t like ’em, feel that way about ’em/Lotta rappers, I don’t talk about ’em/OD niggas ain’t gon’ bust a grape, man, they just talking loud/Got body, got a problem, nigga, go to war about it,” he spits.
T.I. also announced his long-awaited 10th studio album, Dime Trap, will be released later this year via Epic Records and Grand Hustle. Dime Trap will be Tip’s solo album since 2014’s Paperwork.
