T.I. barely stops for air on his new track “Ball,” one of the cuts from his next album Trouble Man. T.I. goes back to his trap roots — drum machine, synth-inspired percussions — and adds some New Orleans booty-shaking bounce thanks in part to production from Rico Love and Earl & E. Lil Wayne drops by to assure everyone that there “ain’t no nigga like a Young Money nigga” and brag about his good looks. The track is a rapid-fire banger that is sure to light up club dance floors (and strip clubs.)
Again, in true T.I. fashion, the rapper doesn’t make the wisest choice when it comes to his lyrics. Mid-song on the chorus, the track gives a shout-out to both the bottle and molly. T.I. was caught with the illegal drug in 2010, an arrest that broke his probation and sent him back to the slammer for 11 months. Will the rapper-turned-author ever learn? Sigh.
Trouble Man, T.I.’s eighth studio album, is scheduled for release on Dec. 18 via Atlantic Records.
