Tinashe is prepping us for her forthcoming sophomore album Joyride by appearing in magazines like Playboy to displaying her vocals on talk shows, like she did last night (Nov. 16) on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
The 22-year-old songbird let her talent shine with a performance of her Chris Brown-featured single “Player,” in which she strutted around the stage and performed heaps of choreography while sporting some sweats from Yeezy Season 1 and a sheer black leotard. The audience was loving it and Fallon was awestruck, shouting “oh my God!” after her performance concluded.
On the direction of her forthcoming album, the “Cold Sweat” singer said she’s sticking true to herself. “I think it’s also important for me to maintain my authenticity, and I think my fans are going to hope to see that I’ve recorded some songs in my home bedroom [as had been done for Aquarius],” she said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “I made a genuine effort to record certain songs and create material in my room. It was definitely different to [juggle] a touring schedule and a creative schedule, but it’s something that I definitely had to just work through and work on and push myself to work even harder and be even more focused.”
