Thanks to a positive Kickstarter post from TLC on Wednesday (Apr. 5), fans can expect the R&B group’s final album to be released on Jun. 30.
“Hey Kickstarter Family, The album date is firm, June 30th is the release of the new TLC album that you made happen!” wrote Bill Diggins, the group’s manager. A Kickstarter campaign to fund TLC’s final album began in January 2015. Donations exceeded expectations, and over $430,000 from 4,201 backers was raised.
“Tionne and Chilli have been working night and day to hit this date,” Diggins wrote of the progress the duo has made in the months since announcing their album. “The video and a photo shoot on April 18th, 19th, 20th.”
Digging also asked fans to get creative to help the group come up with a title.
“ONE MORE THING….. We need your help…let’s hear your suggestions for the album title! Tionne and Chilli are still undecided so looking to you for inspiration.”
The legendary group is now the duo of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas. Founding member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was killed in a car crash in 2002, and this will be the group’s first musical endeavor since her passing.
