TLC fans worldwide just received the greatest news ever. The groundbreaking R&B group announced their final album just received the green light thanks to their successful Kickstarter campaign fund. Created earlier this year, the “Waterfalls” artists called on the help and support from their fan base, which even included Katy Perry, to donate to their project’s endowment.
Their goal was $150,000, but the ATL natives received $430,000 in proceeds. In a previous interview with People, the leading ladies said, “Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for our fans for all of their amazing support. We feel so blessed to know that not only do our fans love us, but they believe in us. We have received support from longtime listeners that attended our first concerts, plus new fans who have only just started listening.”
This will mark their fifth album since debuting in 1992 with Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip, and some fans who donated will gain iconic tokens of gratitude like signed memorabilia, access to an exclusive listening party, and a one-of-a-kind digital scrapbook. Hopefully, some of TLC’s forthcoming tunes will be performed on stage during their joint concert with Nelly and New Kids on the Block beginning in May.
