Earlier this year, it was rumored that Toni Braxton and her fiancee Birdman broke off their engagement after a series of cryptic Instagram posts. However, just a week later, the Cash Money head honcho posted a photo of himself and his lady love with the caption ‘4LiFE.” It appears that we weren’t the only ones perplexed as to what was going on.
Braxton spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her relationship during her appearance on the Braxton Family Values red carpet.
“We don’t know what happened,” Braxton said of the breakup rumors. “It just kind of [came out of nowhere]. Someone said it and we were like, ‘OK, we’ll just ride with it because it’ll give us some privacy. So that’s good. But we’re good.”
Braxton and Birdman reportedly got engaged in 2017, and the confirmation was seen in a trailer for her show, Braxton Family Values, where she shows off her giant, canary-colored ring. She panicked after losing her ring on a Delta Airlines flight in late-2018.
During an interview with Wendy Williams, Birdman called Braxton his “everything.” “[Toni is] my girl, my friend, my family,” he said. “That’s my love, my soldier, my life… She my life. I love her to death.”
