Top Dawg Entertainment — home of Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and Schoolboy Q, may be gearing up for something big pretty soon. This past weekend (Aug. 5), TDE’s CEO and founder, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, shared a cryptic message with a date on Twitter that many fan theorists seem to believe is an album release date.
“09.02.16,” Top Dawg tweeted. It is unclear however, what the date actually pertains to. Earlier in the year, Top Dawg posted a release schedule, suggesting that every member of the TDE squad would be releasing a new project before the end of the year. And since then, Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q have delivered their albums. Ab-Soul and Isaiah Rashad have also confirmed their projects are finished and ready to be released. SZA’s debut album, A is also supposed to drop in 2016, along with Jay Rock’s long-awaited project.
Before the latest message, Tiffith announced back in July 2016, that a TDE tour would take place once everyone on the roster released their project. So who’s next up? Fans will just have to wait until the fall rolls around to see. In the meantime, check out Top Dawg’s tweet below.
