Late last week, Soulja Boy proclaimed that he’s the hottest rapper in the game today. This week on Twitter, Tory Lanez is calling himself the “best rapper alive.”
“IM THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE RIGHT NOW,” the Memories Don’t Die MC proclaimed on the social media platform early this morning (Jan. 24). “I WILL BODY ANY OF YALL N***AS OUT ! PERIOD.”
“And for anybody denying what I’m saying … that’s cool,” he continued. “Just remember your favorite rapper wouldn’t step up the last time . BECAUSE N***AS IS AFRAID OF THIS WORK.”
Of course, hip-hop fans may dub heavyweights J. Cole or Pusha T with the lauded distinction of “Best Rapper Alive.” However, Lanez is really not trying to hear that, so save it for your book.
“Don’t tell me nothing about Cole or Pusha T Either,” he wrote. “Some of my favorite rappers but ….. I gave them both an equal opportunity to go bar for bar with me . And they weren’t READY… I will become the biggest artist in the world one day . I will also be known as the best artist at all aspects of my craft . .. I don’t care if u doubt me now . You will see for yourself in due time.”
J. Cole spits a bar about being the greatest in his recent song “Middle Child,” which was released last night (Jan. 24).
“I studied the greats, I’m the greatest right now,” he says.
