Travis Scott is floating somewhere in outer space after the release of his latest studio album Astroworld. In celebration of the new release, the rapper announced his headlining Astroworld Festival in his hometown of Texas on Aug. 10.
The festival will reportedly take place for one day in Nov. 2018 at Houston’s TRNG Park. The artist unveiled a trippy promotional flyer along with the announcement, displaying a roller-coaster descending into a bed of greenery. In addition to Travis headlining the concert, he will also be handpicking the supporting acts for the event.
“Travis, myself and our entire Cactus Jack team couldn’t be more excited to finally reveal our plans for the first-ever Astroworld Festival,” David Stromberg, Travis Scott’s manager and GM of Cactus Jack Records, said in a press release. “Our ultimate goal in launching this Fest is to bring some well-deserved recognition to Travis’ hometown of Houston, the place that has made him both the man and creative artist he is today. H-Town has an incredible rich cultural history, and we look forward to showcasing to residents from Travis’ own backyard and across the globe what makes this city so special. Make sure to get your tickets now as the inaugural Astroworld will be a really special and unique experience not to be missed.”
As previously noted, Trav recently dropped Astroworld, featuring appearances by Frank Ocean, Drake, Migos, Swae Lee, and more. The album reportedly scored a whopping 450,000 unit sales during its opening week, and is projected to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
The Astroworld Festival will go down on Nov. 17 in Houston Tx. Head over the official festival site for more information.
