2013 is shaping up to be a golden year for Trey Songz.
With a prominent role in “Texas Chainsaw 3D” and a successful tour in the can, the “Love Faces” singer has more than two reasons to be hype about the next 365: a 2012 Grammy nod for his hit “Heart Attack.”
“First of all, I thank Rico Love and Benny Blanco who created the record,” Trey told VIBE on Thursday (Dec. 6). “I actually spoke to Rico last night. We spoke about the Grammy nomination and I was happy. It’s a blessing.”
He recalled how the record came to fruition and how he knew it was a hit. “When we created the record, I knew it was a special record. That’s why it was the first single off my biggest album [Chapter V.]…It’s not my first nomination, but the Grammys are the Grammys.”
