Troy Ave’s day in court will happen, just not as soon as some may think. Ave’s original court date Saturday (May 28) was postponed as the rapper continues to nurse a self-inflicted gun shoot wound to the leg he received during last week’s shooting at Manhattan’s Irving Plaza.
Ave, real name Roland Collins, faces a bevy of charges in connection with the deadly shooting including attempted murder and weapons possession. The 33 year old Major Without A Deal Brownsville, Brooklyn rapper was undergoing surgery to have bone fragments removed from his leg.
The Wednesday night shooting (May 25) at a T.I. headlined concert left one dead, 30 year old Ronald McPhatter, and three–along with Ave–injured. The NYPD released footage of Ave firing five shots into the second floor green room of the concert venue. Ave was rushed to NYU’s Langone Medical Center where he remained.
Following the results of a ballistic test, charges are expected to be upgraded to murder.
