Tupac Shakur’s death is being used to shamelessly sell coffee. Run and Gun Coffee in Toronto, offers a latte inspired by the 25-year-old rapper’s death, complete with “five shots” of milk made to look like “bullet holes.”
The Best of Toronto blog, mentioned Run and Gun’s “Tupac latte” — which was apparently hidden from the main menu — in a profile about the coffee shop.
“Not written on the board is the ‘Tupac,’ which plays thematically with the chalk drawings of rappers that direct you into the coffee shop from a sandwich board outside,” reads the profile. “Appropriately, it has five shots, and is dotted with five milk “bullet holes.”
Pac died on Sept. 13, 1996, nearly a week after he was shot four times during a drive-by shooting on the Las Vegas strip.
Meanwhile, this latte idea is inaccurate, and just plain disrespectful.
