If you have been keeping up with the latest from Compton, California’s own, Kendrick Lamar since his early days, you know that he and his Top Dawg Entertainment family pride themselves on being able to create the path that they’re embarking on. However, it is Lamar’s relationship with Aftermath head honcho Dr. Dre that has brought him to the forefront of the mainstream’s national consciousness.
With last night’s strong performance at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards, a “HiiiPower” single on iTunes, and his major label debut “good kid, m.A.A.d. city” set to hit stores, Kendrick Lamar is handling his transition into the spotlight with a cool, California calm. Interscope has amped up the anticipation for the “short film” by pushing this new commercial which boasts the Aftermath boss’ ability to pick the future premiere talent of Hip-Hop. “good kid, m.A.A.d. city” hits stores on October 22nd, but you can pre-order the album by clicking HERE.
