Vince Staples affinity for the summertime just became more clear. After releasing his debut album Summertime ’06 last summer, Staples is gearing up to release another project titled Prima Donna, which will serve as the rapper’s first EP.
Prima Donna will feature six tracks with collaborations with fellow rappers A$AP Rocky and frequent collaborator Kilo Kish. Production will be handled by DJ Dahi, James Blake, and No I.D., who recently declared that Staples has “really begun to establish himself as an artist’s artist and a new voice for the new generation.”
But wait, there’s more. Along with the six track release, Staples will also give fans a short film directed by Nabil Eldurkin, who directed Kanye West’s “Paranoid” video. To top everything off, the rapper is also making 5,000 vinyl copies available, all of which will be signed and hand numbered by the rapper himself.
The EP will be available August 26, with the option to pre order being available beginning August 19.
