Left Coast rapper Vince Staples is releasing his new album, Big Fish Theory on June 23. We’re still a couple weeks away from his second studio album, but the LBC youngster dropped off his latest effort from the LP — the Ty Dolla $ign-assisted, “Rain Come Down.”
With Zack Sekoff on the boards, the intellectual gangsta’ recalls life on the Northside of Long Beach where crime is rampant and the streets are flooded with indifferent police.
“I’m the man, ten toes in the street/I’m the blood on the leaves, I’m the nose in the Sphinx/Where I’m from we don’t go to police/Where I’m from we don’t run, we just roll with the heat/I’m the back of the bus, take a seat/Take a ride on the side where we die in the street/And the cops don’t come for some weeks/No, the cops don’t come for some weeks,” raps the Cutthroat rep.
Guest appearance king, Ty Dolla $ign hums a soothing hook on the habit-forming tune. He sings: “Rain come down/Get your man laid down,You don’t know, know, know, know, know, know/Know, know, know, know, know, know(Rain come down).”
“Rain Come Down” is this third single from VInce’s forthcoming album. Last summer, he released his Prima Donna EP, which contained the banger.
