When in doubt, just blame rap music.
After Waka Flocka Flame appeared on CNN to publicly state his “disgust” for the University of Oklahoma’s SAE fraternity racist chant video, MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinksi attacked the Atlanta-rapper and accused him of being part of the problem.
“He shouldn’t be disgusted with them. He should be disgusted with himself.” His songs are full of N-words and F-Bombs,” she said after citing Waka’s music as: “a bunch of garbage.”
Yet host Willie Giest, struck an important chord by pointing out the difference between rap lyrics and racism.
“I would love to never hear that word again in a song white, black or otherwise but there is a distinction between a bunch of white kids chanting about hanging someone from a tree and using that word in a hateful way,” Giest said.
