Wale has collaborated with many of hip-hop’s elite, but the MMG lyricist entered a whole new ball game when he teamed up with Michelle Obama for her Reach Higher initiate.

As part of the First Lady’s 2015 Beating The Odds Summit, about 140 college-bound students attended the White House Thursday (July 23) where Wale, E! News Correspondent Terrence J and the First Lady encouraged students on the importance of pursuing a higher education.
Valedictorians, students from rural and urban communities and some even struggling with homelessness attended panels on adapting to a new environment, the college social scene and financial aid.

While many of the students were happy to meet Wale, his celebrity was trumped by a surprise visit from the President, who also drove home the importance of college.
