Wale has a new release for your listening pleasure.
The 17-track Summer on Sunset mixtape dropped Friday (June 17), and is inspired by the Washington D.C. native’s move to Los Angeles.
Hosted by DJ Quicksilver, Summer on Sunset features guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Cam’ron, Eric Bellinger, Raheem DeVaughn, Tha Dog Pound and more. Production credits include DJ Mustard, Lee Major, and Jake One.
The “P.Y.T” rapper announced the mixtape in an Instagram video featuring performance vignettes, and a message from Jerry Seinfeld (which is also on the mixtape).
“I heard you moving out to L.A. to clear you head,” says the comedian. “Oh my God, there’s very little clearer head out there. But L.A.’s fun, a lot of people out there work hard, but the people that aren’t working are partying even harder. So stay cool, and be yourself, and don’t ever change.”
Summer on Sunset precedes Wale’s forthcoming S.H.I.N.E. (Still Ignoring Negative Energy) album.
